Almost There Records is an independent label in Austin, TX, focused primarily on the local rock scene. Our story begins with a Who tribute record, Who And Who, released in December 2004. Its mega-platinum success encouraged us to take things a step further, so we embarked on a new tradition by releasing the Turn 1 compilation in August 2005, a new collection of original music from Austin's finest bands. The Turn 2 comp followed in August 2006, (Here Come The) Mandible and Turn 3 followed in 2007 and 2008 has seen releases by The Wailing Walls and Rockland Eagles, as well as Turn 4.

Each winter we also sponsor a hoot night to celebrate our musical heroes, beginning with the Who And Who record release show and followed by tributes to Neil Young, The Kinks, and an uber-hoot night this past February featuring the music of Big Star, Cheap Trick, and Mott The Hoople. Reports of a John Lennon/Paul McCartney hoot night this winter are not greatly exaggerated. Details to follow.

Almost There Records wants to help great local rock bands get the attention they deserve. Plus, it's an excuse to put together shows we wanna see and put out records we wanna hear. RAWK!
